First nun consecrated at St Anne's Convent
Five years after its founding, the first nun was consecrated in Schönfeld — a new chapter of Coptic monastic tradition outside Egypt.
On 10 August 2023 Bishop Anba Gabriel consecrated the first nun of St Anne's Convent, in the presence of Bishop Anba Marc, Bishop of Paris and northern France.
Two months earlier, on 2 June 2023, the monastic life of the convent had been officially recognised — the first recognised Coptic convent in Austria.
What builds up a place is the presence of the altar and the regular liturgy.
